My research focuses on shared virtual environments, technology enhanced
learning, and social informatics. I teach two courses I designed as an
Assistant Instructor about the societal impacts of technology and the
use of Web 2.0 and Web 3D as information platforms for knowledge work.
My course web sites are located here Social Issues in a
Networked Society and Working
in Virtual
Worlds
Currently I provide virtual world consulting through Sanchez Social
Media. Most recently I held the position of systems analyst at
the University of Texas at Austin where I consulted with scientist and
researchers enabling them to implement state-of-the-art technologies
into their research and teaching. I recently co-founded the Educators Coop in Second Life,
Second Life's first residential community for Educators.
I frequently blog about my virtual world research at the Educators Coop
